Test Automation Developer

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a Test Automation Developer with a solid understanding of Personal Lines insurance products and workflows, particularly in product pricing functionality. Experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter is highly desirable. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and brings strong technical expertise in application development within Agile / Scrum environments. You'll play a key role in driving quality assurance efforts, collaborating across teams, and continuously improving testing processes to ensure high-quality product delivery.

Key Responsibilities

As a Test Automation Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test solutions that support Agile and Scrum methodologies. You will define test strategies, identify automation opportunities, and create robust test plans that include scope, objectives, test levels, techniques, and required environments.

You will collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to design and implement automated test scenarios based on user stories and acceptance criteria. Your testing scope will include functional, integration, regression, performance, and backend data validation.

In addition to building and executing automated test scripts, you will contribute to continuous integration and delivery (CI / CD) pipelines, ensuring high-quality releases. You will also manage defect tracking and resolution using tools such as JIRA or Spira, participate in defect triage and root cause analysis, and ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices.

You will play a key role in mentoring QA team members on automation best practices, driving continuous improvement in testing processes, and communicating effectively across teams and time zones.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of software testing principles and Agile / Scrum frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools and scripting languages- Ruby, Tosca.
  • Familiarity with test management tools such as JIRA
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI / CD pipelines
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
  • A strong object-oriented programmer with a keen interest in transitioning into a test automation role
  • Ability to lead and mentor team members in automation practices.

This role will be filled in a hybrid capacity, with in-office collaboration in our Columbus, OH office 2 days per week.
