Employee Relations Specialist

Reports To : Human Resources Director

Job Type : Full Time

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Corporate Hospitality Services is seeking an experienced and dedicated Employee Relations Specialist to join our Human Resources team. This role is crucial in fostering a positive and productive work environment by managing employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and providing HR guidance across the organization. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues with a focus on fairness and legal compliance.

Conduct thorough, objective investigations into employee complaints and workplace issues.

Interpret and provide guidance on HR policies and employment laws.

Serve as an HR advisor to line managers and supervisors on employee relations matters.

Assist in developing and implementing personnel policies and procedures.

Analyze trends and recommend solutions to improve employee morale, performance, and retention.

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws to reduce legal risks.

Conduct exit interviews and analyze feedback to support retention efforts.

Maintain accurate OSHA and company-mandated reports on workplace accidents, injuries, and illnesses.

Provide employee benefits guidance and support.

SKILLS

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.

Excellent organizational and detail-oriented abilities.

  • Highly proficient with email, Microsoft Office Suite, and other business communication tools

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

    High degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

    EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in an Employee Relations or HR Specialist role.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws and employment equity regulations.
  • Experience with payroll practices and general HR functions.
  • Proven problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • HR certification or related education (Preferred).
  • Bilingual (required)
