American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN to join the Critical Care Float Pool in a Level 1 trauma center, requiring a valid CA RN license and strong ICU skills.
/ n / n Responsibilities / n
Work in the Critical Care Float Pool of a Level 1 trauma center
Float between ICU and Step Down units, including ED and PACU admit hold populations
Night shifts, part-time schedule (2x12-hour shifts, 7 : 00pm – 7 : 00am)
Care for patients requiring ICU and step-down level of care
Use of Epic and Cerner EMR systems is required
Floating is required throughout the Critical Care Division
Care responsibilities include dysrhythmia management, EKG / ECG operations, cardiovascular and neurocritical interventions, and advanced IV and sedation protocols
Responsibilities include management of central lines, arterial lines, and advanced monitoring equipment such as EVD and ICP monitors
Must be comfortable providing care to complex multisystem, post-cardiac, post-neuro, and trauma patients
Participation in pre-start and annual online modules required
Blocked and self-scheduling are not permitted
No RTO permitted in the first two weeks of assignment; maximum 7 days RTO per 13-week contract preferred, all RTO must be submitted up front
Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
Candidates who were previously employed must have been gone at least one year to return as travelers

Active CA RN license in hand at the time of application (EMSA not accepted)
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Epic charting experience required and must be documented in work history
Cerner charting experience required
Must pass EKG exam (up to three attempts)
CPI Blue Card must be obtained before start (MAB or online CPI not accepted)
Two recent supervisor references required for consideration
No background or Nursys violations allowed
First-time travelers are accepted
