Tax Auditor Position
Under general supervision performs work of moderate difficulty in the analysis, reconciling, and auditing of city income tax returns for compliance with the city income tax ordinance; provides assistance to taxpayers; performs related work as required.

Required education, experience, and certifications :
Graduation from high school or general education development (G.E.D.) tests equivalency and two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in tax preparation and / or auditing; OR graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate's degree in accounting, business, or related field and one (1) year of experience in tax preparation and / or auditing; graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field; OR enrolled as a student in an accredited two- or four-year college or university program with a degree focus in accounting, business, or related field, thirty-two (32) or more credit hours and the completion of a college internship in the City of Toledo's taxation division within the last five (5) years. Must be bondable. Any user with federal tax information (FTI) access will be subject to both pre-employment and post-employment, periodic, suitability background investigations. These investigations will include, but not be limited to, FBI fingerprinting, local law enforcement records check, and confirmation of citizenship / residency, in accordance with the applicable policies and procedures.
