Position Overview : The Director of Communications & Community Partnerships at Horizon Healthcare Partners plays a critical role in driving the organization's mission by overseeing and coordinating activities related to communications and marketing, stakeholder engagement, community relations, and government relations and membership services. This role is instrumental in raising awareness, building relationships, and securing the necessary support to advance the organization's goals.
Responsibilities :
1. Communications and Marketing :
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to promote the organization's services, programs and mission
- Manage the organization's website, digital and social media presence, and content creation ensuring content is current, engaging, and aligned with branding and messaging guidelines
- Collaborate with external marketing and PR agencies, as needed, to amplify the organization's message
- Monitor and analyze media coverage and adapt strategies as necessary
- Oversee digital and social media platforms, including content planning, creation, posting, and performance tracking
- Design and produce marketing materials such as newsletters, press releases, annual reports, and promotional campaigns
- Collaborate with external marketing, design, and public relations agencies to enhance outreach and visibility
- Monitor and analyze media coverage, website analytics, and social media metrics to evaluate effectiveness and inform strategy adjustments
- Ensure brand consistency across all communication channels and materials
- Support internal communications initiatives to engage staff and stakeholders
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging marketing tools to continuously improve outreach efforts
Partner Support Responsibilities :
Collaborate with partner organizations to understand their communication and outreach needs, providing strategic guidance and hands-on supportDevelop co-branded marketing materials, templates, and toolkits to help partners effectively promote joint initiativesCoordinate joint campaigns and events that highlight shared goals and amplify collective impactProvide partners with communications training, resources, and messaging support to maintain consistency and alignment with organizational valuesServe as the main point of contact for marketing-related inquiries from partners, ensuring timely responses and high-quality deliverablesShare data, stories, and success metrics that showcase the outcomes and value of partner collaborationsFacilitate regular communication among partner organizations to exchange best practices, updates, and media opportunities2. Stakeholder Engagement :
Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, member agencies, sponsors, board members, and partnersCollaborate with the HHP partner development teams to ensure alignment with fundraising efforts where applicableOversee HHPs participation in the BHDDH sponsored Training Projects including assisting with the administration of all the trainingsCoordinate HHPs robust internship program including supervising students and maintaining relationships with the universities and collegesDevelop and implement stakeholder communication strategies to promote collaboration, transparency, and shared goalsFacilitate regular stakeholder meetings or advisory groups to gather input and feedback on HHP initiativesMonitor and evaluate stakeholder engagement activities to assess effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvementPrepare reports, presentations, and updates for internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent and timely information sharingSupport relationship management with government agencies and advocacy groups to advance HHPs mission and strategic priorities3. Community Relations :
Serve as the primary point of contact for community engagement initiativesDevelop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, local businesses, and other relevant entitiesOrganize and participate in community events, fairs, and outreach programsPromote a positive and enduring image of the organization within the local communityIdentify opportunities for collaboration that align with the organizations mission and valuesCoordinate volunteer and employee engagement activities that support community goalsMonitor community trends, feedback, and public sentiment to inform engagement strategiesRepresent the organization at public meetings, forums, and networking eventsPrepare reports and presentations on community relations outcomes and program impactSupport crisis communication efforts by maintaining open, transparent relationships with community stakeholdersCollaborate with contractors, state agencies and HHP partner marketing and communications teams to ensure consistent messaging across all public-facing channels4. Government Relations :
Assist with HHPs legislative campaigns including advocacy at the State House, strategic planning, organizing and mobilizing allies and constituentsWork productively with HHP LobbyistFacilitate the development of HHPs annual list of Policy Priorities which identifies and defines the policy and advocacy objectives that best represent our members key interestsStay informed about relevant government policies, regulations, and funding opportunitiesBuild relationships with government agencies, officials, and representatives at local, state, and federal levelsAdvocate for policies and funding that support the organization's missionMonitor and analyze proposed legislation, regulations, and public policy trends that may impact HHPs operations and stakeholdersDraft policy briefs, position statements, testimony, and other advocacy materialsCoordinate meetings, briefings, and events with policymakers, coalitions, and advocacy partnersRepresent the organization in coalitions, policy working groups, and public forumsDevelop and implement advocacy strategies in collaboration with internal teams and external partnersPrepare regular reports and updates on legislative and regulatory activities for leadership and the boardMaintain records of government interactions and compliance with lobbying or reporting requirementsSupport the development of grassroots advocacy campaigns to engage supporters and constituentsIdentify opportunities for strategic partnerships or collaborations with other organizations to advance shared policy goalsQualifications :
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field Master's degree preferredProven experience in media and marketing, community relations, stakeholder engagement, or government relations in the non-profit sectorStrong interpersonal and relationship-building skillsAbility to build and maintain strong relationships with external partners and stakeholdersExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and platformsDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and to lead and manage staffProficiency in relevant software and tools for marketing and communicationsKnowledge of behavioral health services and the non-profit sectorProficiency with digital marketing tools, content management systems, email marketing platforms, and social media management toolsExcellent organizational and project management skills with attention to detailCreativity, strategic thinking, and a passion for advancing the organizations missionHorizon Healthcare Partners is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.
