STATEMENT OF PURPOSE :

Responsible for the overall management of the OB / GYN department. The OB / GYN DIRECTOR aids the Medical Director and CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER by providing clinical leadership. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance rewarding and disciplining employees addressing complaints and resolving problems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Develop physician office, and call schedules for respective department.
• Supervise, coordinate, and evaluate OB / GYN Physicians, and mid-level OB / GYN Providers. Assist the manager in supervising medical assistants' performance of OB / GYN medical tasks and skills.
• Examines patients, takes medical history, records results, and makes preliminary diagnosis of disease, illness and injury and decides care plan, or follow-up procedures.
• Instruct nurses, medical assistants, back-office assistants regarding assistance with patient care.
