Salary : $130,000 - $166,000, depending on experience. Significant bonus based on billable hours is possible, as well.

2050 Partners is seeking amission- drivenSeniorConsultanttojoinour teamin a fully remote role.In this role, you willdirectly contributetothe execution and management of decarbonization consulting projects that contribute to the development of future GHG-reducing building codes and appliance standards.We are looking forteam- memberswhoarepassionate aboutunderstanding clients pain points anddeliveringpragmatic solutions;dedicated to ourpurpose of shortening the path to carbon neutrality;and enthusiastic aboutgrowing with our dynamic consulting firm.

Initial assignments will include the following project areas :

  • Support federal standards advocacy work, including federal and state appliance standards and test procedures. Work may also involve advocacy for products and equipment requirements as part of state and national building codes.
  • Provide project management and technical support for market transformation efforts.

Responsibilities include :

  • Be a trusted advisor to our clients by providing pragmatic advice based on defensible data and analysis
  • Contribute to multiple projects including technical research, client engagement, subcontractor management, and external stakeholder engagement
  • Plan and direct primary and secondary research to support new and updated federal and state appliance standards and test procedures
  • Develop and oversee laboratory testing, including developing test plans and procuring laboratory time and equipment
  • Foster coalition-building, negotiations, and collaborations with industry and efficiency advocates, including through groups like AHRI, AHAM, NEMA, or AMCA
  • Ensure high-quality deliverables, including reports and presentations
  • Required Qualifications and Competencies :

  • Bachelors degree in engineering isrequired; bachelors degree in mechanical engineering is preferred; higher degrees such as masters or Ph.D. can substitute for up to 2 years of relevant experience
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Direct experience developing and conducting laboratory or field research for end-use technologies
  • Consulting mindset : comfort contributing to complex projects with a problem-solving orientation that prioritizes client needs
  • Highest ethical standards
  • Ability to distill complex technical findings into accessible summaries, tailor content to diverse stakeholders, and maintain consistency and rigor across multi-section documents with multiple contributors
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with experience coordinating interdisciplinary teams to manage timelines and deliverables
  • Ability to collaborate well with people at all levels within an organization
  • Great initiative, creativity, and curiosity; work well both on your own and as part of team
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Confidence, enthusiasm, humility, and discretion
  • Desire and ability to work remotely. Committed to primary alignment with West Coast hours, with flexibility to travel for in-person meetings as needed
  • DesiredExperience :

  • Direct experience advocating for enhancements to building codes or appliance standards
  • Experience in water heating product development, testing, and regulation
  • Direct experience in overseeing or supporting market-based initiatives, such as incentive programs, voluntary labeling, or building benchmarking
  • Direct experience with building energy modeling software such as EnergyPlus
  • Exposure to market transformation programs
  • Exposure to workforce and training (WE&T), and energy equity programs
  • Experience mentoring and / or supervising others
