Description
A licensed practical nurse, or LPN, provides direct and indirect nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician and reports to the Team Lead. SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Obtains, verifies, and updates patient information and provides support services to patients and medical staff.
- Requests, locates, sends, and receives patient medical records.
- Loads labs, medications, and other patient information into the electronic medical records (EMR).
- Assists in exam rooms.
- Assists the physician(s) with examination, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
- Provides direct patient care as ordered.
- Answers and triages phone calls under RN or provider supervision.
- Completes insurance and disability paperwork.
- Documents all interventions, patient / family responses, medication dispensed or prescribed, and hospital data in the medical record.
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating the physician's advice and instruction.
- Coordinates patient care by triaging patients depending on the urgency of patients' needs.
- Administers injections / medications and documents all necessary information ordered by the physician.
- Adheres to safety guidelines by maintaining equipment and instruments.
- Stock supplies.
- Prepares Patient Occurrence Report / Variance Reports as needed.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS : May be required to travel to satellite clinics.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE and REGISTRATION :
Graduate of an accredited School of NursingCurrent LPN License issued by the Arkansas Board of NursingBLS CertificationEXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES :
Minimum one year experience as an LPNExcellent computer and other basic office equipment skillsTime management and organizational skillsAttention to detail skillsREASONING ABILITY :
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.INTERPERSONAL SKILLS :
