SOFTWARE DEVELOPER, IBM Corporation, San Jose, CA (Up to 40% telecommuting permitted) : Design new features and extend OpenTelemetry support with a dynamic architecture. Maintain Open-Telemetry-related code across Instana's agent, backend, and frontend. Debug and resolve customer-reported issues involving OpenTelemetry. Improve the observability platform, Instana, as a member of the Instana Open-Telemetry team. Process millions of spans, traces, metrics, and events per second to deliver actionable insights to customers. Focus on generating, collecting, processing, exporting, visualizing, and analyzing telemetry data using OpenTelemetry. Collaborate on cross-team Open-Telemetry initiatives. Improve documentation or seamless customer adoption. Contribute to the Open-Telemetry open-source community. Enhance developer tools and pipelines. Demonstrate strong coding discipline and problemsolving skills. Utilize : Java, Golang, JavaScript Language, SaaS and Cloud Technologies, CI / CD Implementation, GPU Performance Analysis, OpenTelemetry technologies, Large Language Model (LLM) Integration and Analysis, Application development for Al and LLMs. Required : Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or related and two (2) years of experience as a Software Developer or related. Two (2) years of experience must include utilizing Java, Golang, JavaScript Language, SaaS and Cloud Technologies, CI / CD Implementation, GPU Performance Analysis, OpenTelemetry technologies, Large Language Model (LLM) Integration and Analysis, Application development for Al and LLMs. $170,000 to $220,000 per year.
