Reports to : Campus Security Sargent
Olympic College is recruiting for a part-time Security Guard 1 position on the Bremerton Campus. This position will provide essential coverage for the evening shift and will work alongside a full-time Security Officer from Tuesday through Thursday. The purpose of this position is to ensure the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors on campus. Campus Security guards help prevent crime, respond to emergencies, and enforce campus rules. By patrolling the grounds and monitoring access to buildings, they create a safe learning environment.
Essential Functions
Conduct patrols at designated areas on foot or in a patrol vehicle to enforce institution rules and regulations, local, state and federal statues, laws and ordinances.
Operate departmental communication and technical equipment to ensure proper communication and response times
Assist city police officers, county deputy sheriffs, or Washington State patrol troopers in cases of emergency.
Perform other duties as assigned, in the field environment, away from the institution, or in the office environment.

Hourly employees must work 480 hours in a rolling six-month period to become eligible for health benefits. Hourly employees must work 70 hours in any five months for two consecutive years to become eligible for retirement. This is an hourly position scheduled to work up to 18 hours per week, with a salary of $21.43 - $27.96 hourly
This is a part-time classified position. All classified positions will start their salary at Step A. When you have completed six months of probation, you will receive a 5 percent pay increase. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Washington Public Employees Association (WPEA) Union. Classified positions qualify for the following benefits :

Conditions of Employment
Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted.
