Position Overview

The Inspector / Packer is responsible for inspecting and packing bags to safely deliver the highest quality products at the best efficiency and lowest scrap possible using effective manufacturing methods. Inspector / Packer personnel report to the Shift Leader.

Shift schedule :

1st shift - 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 15 PM

2nd shift - 3 : 00 PM to 11 : 15 PM

Pay :   $21.55 / hr

Sign-on bonus : $2,000

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Follow all Key Operating Procedures, including but not limited to :

  • Company and facility Policies
  • Safety – LTCT; use of proper PPE; adherence to all applicable safety rules
  • Quality – PQCT, Bag Specifications, Testing Frequencies and Procedures
  • SOPs – Methods for performing work
  • SSOP / Good Housekeeping standards (keep machines and area sanitized and clean)
  • Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Food / Safety Security
  • HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)
  • Food Regulatory and Customer Specifications
  • Responsible for scrap, efficiency, and product quality
  • Responsible to ensure that box and tote counts are accurate as per the bag specification
  • Learn to pack all bag specifications and at all machines
  • Assist and work closely with Quality, Maintenance, and technical resources to ensure that issues are being addressed to optimize the performance of the line.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for improvements
  • Communicate in a positive and respectful manner to resolve all issues
  • Complete all documentation accurately
  • Other responsibilities and projects as assigned

Experience and Qualifications

  • Education :   High School Diploma.
  • Experience : Experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Specific Skills : Ability to read measuring tapes and product specifications with mechanical aptitude.
  • Equipment & Machinery : Pallet jacks, machine hoists.
  • Computer Experience & Software :    Basic computer skills.
