Position Description Summary
Henry Ford College presents an opportunity for an Applications Systems Analyst.
The Applications System Analyst is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing information systems, performs encoding, testing, debugging, and installation activities as necessary. The ASA works with organizational end users to clarify current operating procedures and communicate program objectives. This position relies on established guidelines and instructions to perform daily job functions and under general supervision and usually reports to a project leader or manager.
Core Competencies and Qualifications
This position typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher plus three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in information technology and / or institutional research. However, HFC recognizes that there are alternative career paths where candidates may gain the expertise and ability to perform the essential duties.
Education, experience, and training that demonstrate proficiency and the ability to perform the essential duties will be evaluated for equivalency to the education, competencies, and experience qualifications listed below.

Applied Technical Skills
- Microsoft applications and operating systems, including Office 365, Windows 10 / 11, Windows Server 2019+
- Familiar with MS SQL Server 2016 or later
- Knowledge of programming technologies, including PowerShell, React.
- Experience with large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) systems
Analytical Skills

Serves as primary support for the College's Student ERP systems, supporting areas such as Enrollment Services, Registration & Financial AidServes as backup support for Student Self Service & Portal.Maintains familiarity with new technology standards and how each may be applied to the future growth and development of the services provided by the Ellucian Colleague ERP system, including the Perceptive Content and Dynamic Forms systems.IT lead on various projects pertaining to the ERP system.Integrate 3rd party software with the student ERP systems.Evaluates, installs, tests, configures, maintains, tunes, and troubleshoots application programming within the Colleague ERP.Follow established procedures for process customizations and development, including documenting and obtaining user approval on modifications and / or process results.Consults with users to identify and analyze computer support needs. Develop and recommend specifications for new applications and propose changes to existing applications on the administrative systems.Assists with writing technical and user documentation pertaining to the administrative systems.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups. Conducts training on accessing / utilizing computer resources and applications.Work with departments to identify system requirements and solve moderately complex business problems. Analyzes and revises existing system logic.Assists departments in developing procedures and trains staff in using computer systems. Performs work with limited supervision. Possesses an understanding of the business and user needs, equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and desired results to provide data solutions.Other duties as assigned, trained and qualified to perform.Additional Information
