Position : As-Needed School-Based Sign Language Interpreter (ASL)

Location :  Ann Arbor, MI (48103)

Schedule :  As needed (2-10 hours / week) – Flexible scheduling

Compensation :  Up to $45 / hr (W2 position)

Connected Health Care , a trusted education staffing agency, is seeking a skilled  Sign Language Interpreter  to provide on-demand support for K-12 students in  Ann Arbor, Michigan . This role is perfect for an interpreter who values flexibility and wants to make an impact in an educational setting.

Job Duties :

Provide  ASL interpretation  services for deaf / hard-of-hearing students in classrooms, meetings, and school activities.

Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and peers while maintaining  neutrality and confidentiality .

Adapt interpreting style to match student’s language level (, SEE, PSE, or ASL).

Collaborate with teachers / staff to ensure access to curriculum and school environments.

Occasionally assist with  note-taking or tutoring support  if aligned with student’s IEP.

Requirements :

Michigan Educational Interpreter Certification  (or equivalent credential, , RID, NIC, EIPA

Experience working in  school settings  (preferred but not required).

Ability to interpret academic content accurately and adjust to grade-level needs.

Willingness to travel between schools in Ann Arbor as needed.
