What Data Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health

The Data & Analytics Function oversees the analytics life-cycle in order to identify, analyze and present relevant insights that drive business decisions and anticipate opportunities to achieve a competitive advantage. This function manages analytic data platforms, the access, design and implementation of reporting / business intelligence solutions, and the application of advanced quantitative modeling.

Data Engineering ensures raw data is usable and accessible for the organization. Data Engineering encompasses numerous specialties of data acquisition, integration, and provisioning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical implementation of the Databricks platform, ensuring alignment with enterprise data architecture and strategy.
  • Serve as the primary technical advisor and SME for Databricks across the organization.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to design scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions.
  • Guide and mentor application and project teams on best practices for data engineering, analytics, and AI / ML using Databricks.
  • Drive the adoption of the Lakehouse architecture, integrating structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Partner with data governance, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Contribute to the development of a Databricks Center of Excellence and help build a high-performing team.

Qualifications

  • 8-12 years of experience in Data and Analytics, preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience with Databricks, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Proven experience implementing and scaling Databricks Lakehouse Platform in a complex enterprise environment
  • Deep expertise in data engineering, analytics, and AI / ML using Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and related technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and data architecture principles.
  • Demonstrated leadership in guiding cross-functional teams and delivering enterprise-scale data solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment supporting multiple business units and projects
  • Databricks certifications (e.g., Databricks Certified Data Engineer, Solutions Architect), preferred
  • Experience with CI / CD, DevOps for data, and data governance frameworks, preferred
  • Familiarity with enterprise data strategy and data product thinking, preferred

  • Anticipated salary range : $123,400 - 176,300
