About the Role

DigiLens is hiring an experienced, self-motivated Process Integration Engineer to develop world-class waveguide manufacturing processes. The Ideal candidate will develop and optimize production and manufacturing processes to improve output, quality, yield, and cost goals. This will involve collaboration with cross-functional and cross-company teams, as well as tool vendors, to meet the device requirements for next-generation heads-up display products.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will :

  • Drive integration of waveguide manufacturing processes and process improvements in pilot production and transfer to high-volume manufacturing.
  • Collect production data and apply standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and optimize process flow.
  • Devise process control plans, troubleshoot process issues, and identify process bottlenecks and solutions to resolve through data analysis, SPC review, and failure mode analysis.
  • Design and carry out experiments to determine the effect of process variables on waveguide properties and performance.
  • Recommend changes or upgrades to process equipment to improve performance, efficiency, and utilization of resources.
  • Transfer processes to high-volume manufacturing partners and support new factory startups.
  • Collaborate with internal product development and external manufacturing engineering teams.
  • Domestic and international travel required, as necessary, to support job responsibilities.

Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, or an equivalent field
  • Recent hands-on experience in process development, integration, scale-up, troubleshooting, and transferring new processes to high-volume manufacturing.
  • The years of experience required will vary based on whether you have a B.S. or an M.S. degree as follows :
  • B.S. – 5 to 8 years’ experience.

  • M.S. – 3 to 6 years’ experience.
  • Experience in inkjet printing process / equipment development.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply Statistical techniques (DOE, Regression, Anova, SPC, Hypothesis Test, Process Capability Studies) for process development and process improvement.
  • Solid analytical and technical problem- solving / troubleshooting skills.
  • Direct experiences in yield, integration, device, or process engineering organizations, or in the development and integration of novel materials systems.
  • Excellent at cross-functional innovation working with process, product design, reliability, and systems engineering team.
  • A fast learner, able to adapt quickly to the company culture and technology.
