The Events Supervisor is an integral member of Mt. Bachelor's Marketing and Events Departments and is responsible for leading a team as a professional example in providing exceptional guest service, internally and externally, whilst executing Events to a high standard. The Events Supervisor will work with the Events Manager and Events Specialist to execute operationally on the defined resort Events and Partnership programming at Mt. Bachelor. This job requires an enthusiastic, high energy individual who likes both the details involved in planning events and programming but more so, acts as the boots on the ground, having the physical skills, mindset and ability required to execute to a high standard to ensure a safe, professional and enjoyable Event experience and displays an ongoing commitment to lead a team to exceed guest expectations at all times. You will need to be an advanced skier / snowboarder, snowmobile operator, and off-road driver.

  • A passion for the outdoors and elevating the guest experience through event production, logistics, and execution
  • The ability and desire to work a flexible schedule. Maintain flexible work hours with the ability to respond to changes in the work environment (weather, onsite events, etc.) and be available to work nights and weekends or travel as scheduling requires.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities include :

  • Supervise the Mt. Bachelor Events Crew.
  • Practice exceptional communication between Events Crew, Marketing team, and all other departments involved in the day-to-day event execution and overall resort functions.
  • Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Mt. Bachelor guests at all times by following and ensuring all company and department safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist Events Manager with hiring, training, supervising Events crew.
  • Assist Experiential Manager with employee payroll and scheduling.
  • Assist with the creation of pre-event planning & execution documents and assist with compiling post-event debriefs.
  • Oversee Event set-up and tear-down.
  • Oversee Event logistics and execution.
  • Oversee the events storage room and all assets of the department.
  • Ensure Safety compliance and ongoing Risk Management of event set-up and atmosphere.
  • Pro-active interest in ensuring the proficiency and professionalism of Event setup and providing training to the Event Crew.
  • Oversee Event supplies and materials maintain inventory, assist Events Manager in placing orders.
  • Assist with the execution of the resort's Fall Promotions Tour.
  • Assist with the execution of partner and sponsorship fulfillments.
  • Assist with the execution of Mt. Bachelor's in-market Events.
  • Maintain flexible work hours with the ability to respond to changes in the work environment.
  • Practice outstanding time management.
  • Provide a high level of customer service.
  • Identify and familiarize yourself with all Ski, Snowboard, and Bike industry events.
  • Previous on-snow / dirt Event / Action Sport event production experience.
  • Secondary Function includes :

  • Attend daily snow plan meeting when the Events Manager is unable to anticipate and communicate the next day's operation and logistical needs.
  • Assist Human Resources in the execution of staff events.
  • Assist other departments, such as Lifts, on an on-call basis if front-line support is needed.
  • All Snow was removed around the events building and assets.
  • Supervisory responsibilities include :

  • Number of employees supervised : 5-15

  • Disciplinary actions : Initial contact with the Employee as necessary and communication with the Manager.

  • Interpersonal Contacts include :

  • High-level interaction with guests, event vendors, and Mt. Bachelor Mountain Operations staff.
  • The position will also interact with the POWDR Resorts Partnerships Team, related to Partnership deliverables as needed.
  • Specific Job Skills include :

  • License / Certification : Current and valid driver's License required. Proficiently operate a Snowmobile to safely transport people and equipment as needed.
  • Technical : Specific knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook is essential.
  • Physical Capabilities : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to Ski or Snowboard, walk and / or climb; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, and talk or hear. The employee is required to rake, shovel, or engage in other heavy labor, stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will regularly lift and / or move up to or greater than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work venues are varied and, in many cases, include multi-level buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet, or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom of the area, and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via bike, chairlift(s), skis, or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped, and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out.
  • Additional requirements include :

  • Advanced ski / snowboard, mountain biking, snowmobiles, and off-road driving ability.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Stamina to work back-to-back long days and or weeks.
  • Willing and confident in operating heavy equipment.
  • Familiarity with the layout of Mt. Bachelor.
  • Passion for recreation, events, and interest in marketing.
  • Education / Related Experience includes :

  • Minimum Education : Four-year college degree, preferably with an emphasis on Events / Outdoor Recreation preferred.
  • Minimum time in related position : Experience preferred in a similar role / professional resort events-focused position.
