EMPLOYEE SUPPORT INTERN

Challenge :
- Whiting-Turner is targeting to onboard 1000 interns during for the summer internship program that will be primarily Engineering and Construction Management internships for our construction management teams.
- In addition to the summer internship program Whiting-Turner will onboard over 300 employees from the graduates of prior years’ internship programs as well as other mid-career hires.
- The influx of these new employees will put a major strain on our Employee Support department, who will be tasked with processing the onboarding paperwork.
- Our Employee Support department will need to grow with the company in the future and recruiting employees in a traditional manner has proven to be challenging in the past.
Solution :
The Whiting-Turner Contracting company Employee Support summer internship program will give exposure to in innerworkings of our Employee Support department while providing support to our hiring program will run from June 1, 2026 until August 31st, 2026.This program is intended to give students exposure to administrative workings of a functioning corporate human resources department that is responsible for administering a full line of benefits including Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Health Reimbursement account, Flexible Spending benefits, 401(k) plan as well as a random drug testing program among other Human Resource addition, the program will help Whiting-Turner develop relationships with candidates that may become future full-time employees.
