Maintenance Mechanic

Position Summary

Work Schedule : Monday to Thursday 5PM-5 : 30AM

100% on-site

Greendale is one of Catalents gummy technology development and manufacturing facilities in North America. The site manufactures organic and vegan-based nutraceuticals via confection to enhance wellness for all consumers.

The Maintenance Mechanic troubleshoots maintains improves and repairs all production machines and existing plant equipment. Performs fabrication on small projects and assists in installation of new equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic maintains and repairs buildings and processes throughout the facility including utilities within the building.

The Role

Perform basic PMs mechanical maintenance and repairs across the plant equipment running and in good repairand makes repairs in a timely manner. Take responsibility for producing high quality product in each step of production.

Help maintain good housekeeping in mechanical and facility areas. Maintains cleanliness and upkeep of repair shop maintenance office and storage areas including all equipment tools supplies and materials found therein.

Makes improvements to plant systems and facilities.

Assists with small scale process improvement projects.

Assists Manager and Engineering in troubleshooting repairs.

Assists Plant staff with adjustments and changeovers of Plant machinery when circumstances are unusual or as needed.

Promptly reports to plant leadership all serious equipment malfunctions and suggested course of action.

Observe and follow safe work practices while also observing and following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Food Safety Plan (HACCP) and Food Quality Plan (FQP)and participates in all necessary training that is required to successfully perform job responsibilities.

The Candidate

High School Diploma / GED with 5 years of this experience or technical / vocational training OR Associates Degree with 3 years of experience troubleshooting maintaining improving and repairing production machines and existing plant equipment required

Advanced industrial electrical experience strongly preferred

Previous GMP and / or food manufacturing experience preferred

Advanced Machine Shop Tools

Skilled trades; I.e. plumbing electrical HVAC

The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 40 pounds infrequently move up to 1000 pounds.

While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly required to stand use hands to finger handle or feel and reach with hands and arms climb or balance.

The employee is occasionally required to stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
