job_description.job_card.job_descriptionConduct speech, language, and communication assessments to evaluate student needs. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and therapy plans. Provide direct speech-language therapy services in one-on-one, small group, and classroom settings. Address articulation, fluency, voice, receptive / expressive language, and social communication challenges. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and special education teams to support student progress. Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) and IDEA guidelines. Participate in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and multidisciplinary team discussions. Train and support teachers and staff on speech-language strategies and classroom accommodations. Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Current North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology License. North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) Professional Educator's License in Speech-Language Pathology (required for school-based positions). Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred. Fingerprint Clearance & Background Check required. Work-Life Balance : Enjoy contracts up to 40 hours per week; unlike salaried positions, you will be paid time-and-a-half for any supervisor-approved hours beyond 40. Flexibility Post-Contract : Options to extend your contract, convert to a permanent position, or explore new opportunities. Personal Time Off : Accrue paid time off for every hour worked. Paid Holidays : 6 paid holidays—Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Presidents Day, and Memorial Day. Material Reimbursement : Reimbursement of $250.00 for any supplies purchased for your classroom. Professional Development : Reimbursement of up to $500.00 for professional development, including CEUs and licensing fees. Medical, dental, and vision offered. Continued insurance coverage over the summer is optional for the employee.
