Director of Nursing

• Ability to manage, supervise, and evaluate personnel.
• Ability to plan, organize, supervise, and evaluate all functions of school and district nursing programs.
• Ability to demonstrate effective leadership skills in group settings.
• Knowledge of current general medical and pediatric nursing practices.
• Knowledge of effective procedures and practices for vision, hearing and other appropriate health

screening activities.

• Ability to use technology to communicate, to manage data, and to produce / submit required reports,

correspondence, and / or financial information related to health services.

• Ability to assess staff development needs, plan, and provide effective health services training.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community and state healthcare

services and agencies.

• Knowledge of school system functions, departments, personnel and schools necessary for the efficient

and effective implementation of all aspects of school nursing programs.

• Effective interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on communication and collaboration with a wide variety

of people and groups.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to relate complex medical and technical

concepts.

• Strong leadership, organizational and project management skills.
