The schedule is flexible with options of 7 AM - 3 PM, 8 AM - 4 PM, or 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday through Friday. No weekends are required. Duties include performing wound assessments, reassessments, and management for all patients following established policies and procedures. The role involves developing skin care programs to prevent skin breakdown. Participation in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for managing residents with draining wounds, fistulae, and / or tubes is essential. You will revise the plan of care based on resident response to treatment. Evaluating the overall effectiveness of the care plan is required. Assessing and reassessing pain and utilizing appropriate pain management techniques is a key responsibility. Education regarding pain management for residents and their families is also part of the role. Providing in-service training on wound prevention, wound care, ostomy care, and incontinence to nursing and facility staff is necessary. You will ensure that communication with nursing staff and physicians is clear and appropriate. Consultation with other healthcare professionals to provide an interdisciplinary approach to resident needs is expected. Documentation must meet current standards and practices. Continual education through training and classes in wound prevention, management, and ostomies is required. Staying current with new advances and treatments in wound care is essential. Experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care environment is preferred. Current CPR certification obtained through physical assessment is mandatory. Hepatitis B vaccination or declination of the offered vaccine is required.
