Advanced Practice Provider, Gynecologic Oncology

Major / Essential Functions

• Provides patient services under direct supervision and responsibility of Physician and / or Medical Director.
• Involvement in patient evaluations, both follow up and new patient clinic visits, may include inpatient rounds.
• Elicits detailed patient histories.
• Screen New Patient intake packets for needed information : MD referral details and office notes, op notesPathology reports, slide requests and procedure radiology reports and arrange for filmsMammogram reports, colonoscopy reports, biopsy results, Pap / HPV reports
• Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
• Administers or orders diagnostic tests and interprets test results for deviations from normal in collaboration with Physician.
• Performs therapeutic procedures and post follow up care such as injections, immunizations, wound care, staple removal and chemotherapy orders.
• Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes and assist in provision of continuity of care.
• Answer patient phone calls, provide symptom management during operating hours.
• Assist with routine medication refills, new Rx in consultation with attending Physician.
• Provide notification of test results to patients (Pap / HPV, bone density scans, routine x-rays).
• Assist with chemotherapy education and counseling.
• Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed regimens.
• Optional, provides surgical assistance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
