Job Summary

Responsibleforallaspectsofthediagnosticphysicsprogramandradiologictechnologyat Corewell Health. Responsibilitiesincludeclinicalduties, innovation, teaching, research, servicetothe Corewell Health enterpriseandcareerdevelopmentthroughleadershipoftheDiagnostic Medical Physicsteamaswellasinvolvementinprofessionalsocieties. WithinImagingandfordepartmentsthatuseimaginginotherservicelines, responsibleforimagequalityandradiationsafetyforpatientsandemployees.

AlongwiththeDiagnostic Medical Physicsteam, providesconsultantservicestotheorganization, aswellasthephysicians, intheclinicaluseofallimagingmodalities.Radiologictechnologyresponsibilitiesincludesupportforoptimizingclinicalprotocols. Activelyparticipatesindepartmentalprojectsincludingradiationshieldingevaluationaswellasoperationalrequirementsforimagingequipment.

As Radiation Safety Officer (RSO), responsibleforcompliancewith Federal (NRC) and State ofMichiganregulationspertainingtotheuseofradiation. Thisindividualinthispositionwillbeexpectedtobethenamed RSO onthe Corewell Health West NRC license.

Certificationbyeitherthe American Board ofRadiologyinNuclearMedicinePhysicsisrequiredormustbeobtainedwithin 9 monthsofhire. Alternativecertificationbythe American Board of Science inNuclearMedicineinNuclearMedicinePhysicsandInstrumentation.

Essential Functions

• Overseestheactivitiesofthephysicistsandanyotherstaffassignedtothephysicsand

technologyarea. Isresponsibletoinsurethatallimagingequipmentisevaluatedandsatisfactorilyoperatesaccordingtostandards.
