This is a remote position.
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on IT Systems & Security Administrator to own the day-to-day health, security, and scalability of our internal technology stack. You will administer Microsoft 365 and Azure services, manage endpoint and network security tools, coordinate laptop imaging / shipping for new hires, and serve as the primary escalation point for employee IT issues—all while embedding strong cyber-security best practices into everything you touch.
Key Responsibilities
Microsoft 365 & Azure AD
- Tenant administration, licensing, and compliance settings
- Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive configuration and support
- Conditional Access, MFA, Intune (MDM / MAM) policy management
Endpoint & Network Security
Deploy and monitor EDR / XDR, VPN, SASE, and vulnerability-scanning toolsMaintain firewall policies and zero-trust network configurationsConduct regular security posture reviews and remediationEmployee Lifecycle Support
Image / build laptops (Windows & macOS) with required security baselinesShip, track, and recover hardware for new-hire onboarding and off-boardingCreate / disable accounts, groups, and SSO assignmentsTrack and manage surplus IT inventory, ensuring proper documentation, secure storage, and timely recycling or disposal in accordance with the organization’s end-of-life cycle policies and procedures.Service Desk & Troubleshooting
Own Tier 2 / 3 ticket queues—remote diagnosis, root-cause analysis, resolutionDocument KB articles and standard operating proceduresProvide effective support to multiple locations, across many time zonesProvide technical support and administration for both Windows and macOS environments, ensuring seamless operation, updates, and compatibility across platforms for end users and infrastructure systems.Continuous Improvement
Automate repetitive tasks with PowerShell, Intune scripting, or equivalent toolsCoordinate tool evaluations, license renewals, and vendor relationshipsSupport annual audits (SOC 2, ISO 27001) with evidence collectionContribute to the development and execution of the organization’s overall IT strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, scalability, and security best practices across infrastructure, systems, and data management.Requirements
Required Qualifications
3 – 5 years administering Microsoft 365 / Azure AD in a production environmentProven experience with modern endpoint-management (Intune, Autopilot)Hands-on work with at least two of the following security platforms : EDR / XDR (e.g., Defender, CrowdStrike), SIEM / SOAR, SASE / ZTNA, vulnerability management, firewall appliancesSolid networking fundamentals (TCP / IP, DNS, VPN, VLANs)Proficiency in PowerShell or other automation / scripting languagesExcellent written and verbal communication skills; able to support non-technical users with patience and clarityMust be eligible to work in the United States and pass a background checkProven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressureStrong organizational and project management skills; attention to detail is a mustResourcefulness; must know when and how to take appropriate actionAbility to work well in a team and independentlyEnjoy working in an autonomous / independent environmentAvailable during a standard workday 8-5, CT time zone preferredHouston, TX metropolitan area preferredPreferred / Nice-to-Have
Industry certifications : CompTIA Security+, MS-102 (Microsoft 365 Admin), AZ-104 (Azure Administrator), CCNA , or similarExperience with ServiceNow ITSM or comparable ticketing systemsFamiliarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF)Prior work in a consulting, professional-services, or fast-growing start-up environmentExperience with Log360 Cloud for security monitoring and auditing.Proficiency in administering IT systems and workflows within the Zoho platform.Benefits
