We are looking for a skilled Credit Analyst to join our team in Rockland, Massachusetts. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the commercial loan department by performing detailed credit analysis, managing loan portfolios, and ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial lending and credit underwriting, as well as the ability to work independently while supporting team goals.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct thorough credit underwriting for commercial loan requests, including mortgages, construction loans, and revolving lines of credit.
- Perform annual credit reviews, loan modifications, and renewals with attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and credit reports to assess borrower strength and identify risk factors.
- Prepare comprehensive financial spreadsheets to facilitate corporate and personal financial analysis.
- Evaluate and recommend risk ratings for loan packages, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and mitigating factors.
- Request and review financial documentation, including accountant-prepared financials and personal financial statements.
- Examine related financial data, such as appraisals, leases, and property reports, to support loan decisions.
- Maintain compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while managing the loan portfolio.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and support.
- Provide guidance and training to entry-level Credit Analysts to enhance their skills and performance.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in credit analysis, commercial lending, or a related field.
- Proficiency in evaluating commercial credit applications and analyzing financial data.
- Strong knowledge of commercial banking practices and loan underwriting processes.
- Ability to assess credit risks and recommend appropriate risk ratings.
- Skilled in preparing and interpreting financial spreadsheets and reports.
- Familiarity with reviewing appraisals, leases, and other financial documents.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
