Role Overview :

We are looking for a knowledgeable Staff Accountant who can increase department accuracy and efficiency. This role will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks such as general accounting operation, financial transactions, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, month end procedures, and sales tax filing. A successful Senior Accountant should be analytical, detail-oriented, and honest. The ideal individual should possess excellent interpersonal skills as well as a strong understanding of accounting and management principles.

Responsibilities :

• Evaluates, develops, and improves department controls, systems, and procedures that increase accuracy and efficiency.
• Participates in the monthly closing process.
• Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Maintains the general ledger.
• Processes month-end, year-end, and major projects accurately and within timelines.
• Ensures that all accounting processes align with GAAP and current financial legislation.
• Maintains accurate and complete financial records and participates in audits or reconciliations, as needed.
• Assists other departments as they develop strategies, establish objectives, and make decisions that could have a financial impact on the business.
• Prepares and files monthly / quarterly sales tax returns for multiple states.
• Assists with other projects and reporting as required and / or requested.
• Prepares monthly bank reconciliations.\
