DESIGN ENGINEER

The Design Engineer contributes to the designs of new products and improvements to existing durable LED Lighting products in collaboration with product management, procurement, marketing and sales.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create new LED lighting products or modify existing products.
• Conceptualize, develop prototypes, test and refine designs.
• Respond to customer requests for designs or products.
• Utilize established engineering concepts and procedures.
• Interpret data and specifications to influence design decisions.
• Recommend design changes to correct malfunction or breakdown to contribute to the perfection of products to the highest technological specifications.
• Render technical assistance in construction and laboratory testing of pilot models and assist in the evaluation of results.
• Determine the feasibility of new product requests from the field.
• Calculate cost estimates for new products.
• Assist manufacturing with continuing product support.
• Update and maintain CAD files, certifications, and test records for existing product lines.
• Determine cost reductions and / or simplification of existing product lines.
• Respond to field problems including investigating, evaluating, testing and corrective action.
