Structural (Bridge) Engineer Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil / Structural EngineeringNBIS-qualified Team LeaderStructural design experience (bridges)Strong communication skills for collaboration with contractors, clients, and project partnersProficiency in relevant engineering tools and willingness to learn new softwareEligibility to work in the U.S.Must Haves :
Lead and perform NBIS-compliant bridge inspections, including fieldwork and reportingExecute bridge load ratings and develop comprehensive, detailed reportsDesign new, rehabilitated, and replacement bridge structures for highway, rail, and pedestrian useCoordinate closely with CAD designers and stakeholders to develop construction-ready plansParticipate in cost estimating, proposal writing, and project specifications beyond just design tasksStructural (Bridge) Engineer Preferred Background & Skills :
Professional Engineer (PE) license in MA, RI, or other statesCompletion of NHI bridge inspection or ancillary structure coursesFamiliarity with MassDOT, Massport, DCR, and MBTA bridge programsExperience managing multiple phases of a project, from inspection through constructionStrong organizational skills and ability to mentor junior engineerspost
