Job Description

BAE Systems is currently seeking an Application Support Engineer to join our integrated Operations & Sustainment (O&S) team located in our Arnold MS site. This role will provide critical 24x7 mission support to our customer and will interface with engineering resources located at other facilities.

The Application Support Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operation of customer application and monitoring / investigation of segment interfaces. Under the direction of the O&S Site Lead, this role is responsible for working with on-site database and system administration support personnel to convey and investigate system anomalies. Additional responsibilities to include investigation into operational issues and performing problem escalation with vendor, factory, on-site & east coast based Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) as required.

This role provides rotating site support (7x24) on a panama schedule to ensure system issues are identified and resolved, minimizing operational impacts - shift work is required.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or 8+ years direct experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Current Security+ Certification
  • Hold a Top Secret / SCI with Polygraph security clearance
  • Have previous experience with LINUX based operating systems
  • Previous System Administrator experience
  • Willing to work in a 24x7 operational environment on Day shift or Night shift (Panama Shift example below)

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • 4-8 years’ experience in a systems administration or operational support role
  • Working knowledge of networks, network infrastructure and common components
  • Understand principles of SQL query language
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are required
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment and be self-motivated
  • Pay Information

    Full-Time Salary Range : $86460 - $146982

    Please note : This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to : business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
