About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chair for the Division of Correctional Health. The successful candidate will provide both administrative and clinical support to the Department Chair, supervising a team of physicians and physician assistants, and directly engaging in patient care. This role involves coordinating quality improvement activities, strategic planning for clinical and support services, and ensuring the implementation of clinical initiatives that meet the healthcare needs of the patient population. The Chair will also be responsible for representing the Department Chair in various meetings, overseeing the development of clinical information systems, and ensuring compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and licensing standards. Applicants must have a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution, be licensed to practice in the State of Illinois, and have completed a residency program in a relevant medical specialty. A minimum of 3 years' of experience as a clinical provider in a complex organizational culture, along with 3 years' of management and leadership experience in a healthcare environment, is required. The ideal candidate will have board certification in a medical specialty, preferably in an adult primary care discipline, and experience in implementing operational improvements in a healthcare setting. Strong communication, interpersonal, and clinical research skills are essential, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment and adhere to the highest standards of patient care.
