Strong Linux admin skills and a solid understanding of networking, DNS, security, and firewalls. Experience with automation and scripting. Comfortable working across CI / CD tools and version control workflows. Knowledge of containerization and virtualization concepts (Docker or similar). Strong troubleshooting instincts — you enjoy solving new problems, not just repeating old solutions. Eagerness to learn, adapt, and improve processes in a fast-moving environment. Experience with small, agile engineering teams. Exposure to cloud providers like Linode, DigitalOcean, or similar platforms. Experience in system security and proactive hardening. Troomi is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer who thrives in small, high-impact teams. This role blends system administration, DevOps, and infrastructure engineering — keeping our production systems secure, performant, and reliable while enabling our developers to move fast with confidence.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage and optimize production systems hosted in Linode and related cloud services.
- Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance tasks.
- Own system reliability — from uptime and performance to alerting and incident response.
- Handle server administration : patching, access, backups, and general care and feeding.
- Implement and improve infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools.
- Contribute ideas for improving scalability, stability, and developer efficiency.
- Collaborate with the dev team to support new projects, features, and integrations.
- Document systems, standards, and processes to help the team move faster and smarter.
