Position Overview : We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated QA Lead to champion quality across our product development lifecycle. This is a critical role where you will take full ownership of our quality assurance efforts, blending hands-on manual testing with the strategic vision to build and implement robust automated QA frameworks. What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities & Day-to-Day Duties) :

  • Own QA Strategy : Take full ownership of all quality assurance initiatives, defining and driving the strategic direction for QA at Rugiet.
  • Manual Testing Leadership : Lead and actively conduct hands-on manual QA testing across all product features, enhancements, and bug fixes to ensure every aspect meets our rigorous quality standards before release.
  • Automated QA Pioneer : Spearhead the introduction and implementation of automated testing frameworks (e.g., for regression, performance, and integration testing), building scalable and efficient solutions that elevate our QA capabilities.
  • Process Architect : Design, implement, and continuously maintain a comprehensive and robust QA process, ensuring all testing activities are aligned with industry best practices and our ambitious project goals.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship : Manage and mentor one other dedicated QA team member, fostering their growth, ensuring effective execution of all QA activities, and cultivating a collaborative environment.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with product managers, backend engineers, and frontend engineers to establish clear testing schedules, align QA efforts with development cycles, and ensure seamless delivery.
  • Defect Management : Diligently document and track defects, collaborating directly with engineers to ensure timely resolution of all identified issues.
  • Quality Advocate : Provide clear, concise, and actionable feedback to developers, product managers, and other stakeholders regarding quality issues, test outcomes, and overall product readiness.
  • Continuous Improvement : Proactively monitor and enhance our QA processes, tools, and methodologies to maximize efficiency, accuracy, and overall product quality.

What You'll Bring (Required Skills & Experience) :

  • 5+ years of dedicated experience in Quality Assurance , with a strong emphasis on hands-on manual testing.
  • Proven leadership experience in QA, including successfully setting up, managing, and optimizing QA processes from the ground up.
  • Hands-on expertise with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar).
  • A strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and various QA methodologies.
  • Experience working with version control systems like Git.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills , with a demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members and collaborate effectively across diverse cross-functional teams.
  • Bonus Points (Nice to Have) :

  • Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI / CD) pipelines .
  • Familiarity with performance testing concepts and tools .
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Ruby or Python to aid in automation efforts.
  • Proven experience working in agile development environments .
  • Prior experience in directly leading or managing a team of Junior / Mid-level QA team members .
