Position Summary
One of Optomi’s top clients is seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale, complex IT initiatives. This role requires a balance of project management expertise, leadership skills, technical knowledge, and change management proficiency to deliver successful outcomes aligned with business goals and enterprise standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight, leadership, and accountability for large IT projects (6+ months duration, 20+ team members, high visibility).
- Ensure compliance with (client) project management methodologies, including SUITE, investment management, and systems engineering methodology.
- Lead cross-functional teams through all phases of planning and execution, including schedule development, risk management, and budget tracking.
- Monitor and report on project performance against scope, quality, schedule, and budget, escalating risks / issues to executive leadership as needed.
- Conduct long-term release planning to align with organizational strategies and enterprise initiatives.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to evaluate technical requirements and propose solutions that meet business needs and industry best practices.
- Apply ADKAR (Prosci) change management principles to ensure stakeholder alignment and successful adoption of deliverables.
Technical Competencies
Strong knowledge of APIs, system interfaces, and multi-system integrations.Working knowledge of IT infrastructure components (networks, servers, storage, firewalls, VIPs, F5 listeners, ports).Familiarity with virtual / cloud environments, web platforms, and enterprise systems.Ability to work closely with technical teams and vendors to support design, integration, deployment, and issue resolution.Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement
Integrate change management strategies from project initiation.Partner with stakeholder engagement teams to develop communication plans, facilitate training, and assess readiness.Support stakeholders at all levels to minimize resistance, align expectations, and ensure long-term adoption of new systems and processes.Qualifications
Proven experience managing large, complex, high-risk IT projects.Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with experience engaging agency leadership.Ability to manage both technical delivery and change management in complex environments.Demonstrated success managing vendor-supported projects with integrated technical and stakeholder components.
