Position Summary

One of Optomi’s top clients is seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale, complex IT initiatives. This role requires a balance of project management expertise, leadership skills, technical knowledge, and change management proficiency to deliver successful outcomes aligned with business goals and enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight, leadership, and accountability for large IT projects (6+ months duration, 20+ team members, high visibility).
  • Ensure compliance with (client) project management methodologies, including SUITE, investment management, and systems engineering methodology.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through all phases of planning and execution, including schedule development, risk management, and budget tracking.
  • Monitor and report on project performance against scope, quality, schedule, and budget, escalating risks / issues to executive leadership as needed.
  • Conduct long-term release planning to align with organizational strategies and enterprise initiatives.
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to evaluate technical requirements and propose solutions that meet business needs and industry best practices.
  • Apply ADKAR (Prosci) change management principles to ensure stakeholder alignment and successful adoption of deliverables.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of APIs, system interfaces, and multi-system integrations.
  • Working knowledge of IT infrastructure components (networks, servers, storage, firewalls, VIPs, F5 listeners, ports).
  • Familiarity with virtual / cloud environments, web platforms, and enterprise systems.
  • Ability to work closely with technical teams and vendors to support design, integration, deployment, and issue resolution.

    • Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Integrate change management strategies from project initiation.
  • Partner with stakeholder engagement teams to develop communication plans, facilitate training, and assess readiness.
  • Support stakeholders at all levels to minimize resistance, align expectations, and ensure long-term adoption of new systems and processes.

    • Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing large, complex, high-risk IT projects.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with experience engaging agency leadership.
  • Ability to manage both technical delivery and change management in complex environments.
  • Demonstrated success managing vendor-supported projects with integrated technical and stakeholder components.
