Building Engineer Apprentice - IUOE Local 399 - JLL

What this job involves :

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Apprentice-Trainee Engineer to join our comprehensive three-year training program designed to prepare individuals for a career as a qualified Engineer. This entry-level position combines hands-on experience in building maintenance and operations with formal education at Local 399 school working alongside experienced Engineers to maintain monitor and repair various building systems including HVAC electrical plumbing and fire safety. As you progress through the apprenticeship you will take on increasingly complex tasks while developing technical skills workplace safety knowledge and critical system standards understanding that will prepare you for a rewarding career as a qualified Engineer capable of efficiently maintaining and operating building systems.

What your day-to-day will look like :

• At the direction of your supervisor maintain monitor and perform preventive maintenance on all building systems including fire / life safety mechanical (HVAC plumbing controls) electrical (lighting UPS PDU generators primary switch gear) and emergency backup systems.
• Install and repair plumbing / piping / tubing wire single and three phase motors run conduit and pull wiring to machinery and operating parts.
• Monitor operation repair and maintain refrigeration water-cooling air-conditioning equipment boilers pumps valves piping and filters.
• Record readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper equipment operation while analyzing system performance to determine causes of problems and take corrective action. Oversee contractor activities within the building and maintain records of building rounds engineering logs and data sheets.
• Ensure compliance with emergency escalation procedures Critical System Standards and Working in Critical Areas Standards. Attend Local 399 school as part of the comprehensive training program.

Salary / Comp : Hourly position starting at $18.25 with progressive wage increases based on apprenticeship year (2nd year : $19.00 3rd year : $19.75 4th year : $21.00).See CBA for IUOE Local 399.

Work Shift :

Full-time hours with overtime eligibility. The shift will be 1st 2nd and / or 3rd shift as determined by the supervisor.

Estimated compensation for this position :

37960..00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications location market conditions and internal considerations.
