Librarian I (Research)

Provides research services toLibrary members and the public as part of a team; instructs members in the use of traditional / electronic reference sources and online public access catalog. Participates in collection maintenance and development; maintains research and non-fiction collections. Plans and implements adult classes / activities; provides readers’ advisory services; assists with conducting internet / other computer classes to the public.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS) accredited by the American Library Association (ALA).

PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE IN / WITH : Working in a public / academic library research section; providing readers’ advisory services; providing instructions on downloading media; presenting programs / instructions to groups; collection maintenance / development; using computer / internet / database resources. Also desirable : Bi / trilingual (English / Spanish / Creole).
