The Manager, Infrastructure Analysis is a member of the Network Planning team. This role leads the team responsible for modeling our long-term strategic infrastructure needs ( gates and airspace), this team plays a critical role in shaping our 5-year strategic plan. In this job, you’ll be part of one of the most impactful pillars of American Airlines’ strategy and learn the interdisciplinary skills necessary to successfully support this process.

What you'll do

  • Lead strategic infrastructure analysis to support American Airlines’ long-term network and operational goals
  • Identify infrastructure needs across the network and validate them through rigorous commercial and financial analysis
  • Partner with Corporate Real Estate, Network Planning, Finance, and other stakeholders to align infrastructure initiatives with company strategy
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on gate access rules in strategic spokes, ensuring that our Network Planning and station leaders are set up to secure ample access to common use gates when necessary
  • Provide network inputs to assist the Customer Experience organization in building business cases for both new and expanded lounges across our network
  • Develop business cases and recommendations for infrastructure investments, expansions, and optimizations.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitive benchmarks to inform infrastructure planning
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership to support decision-making

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure planning, financial analysis, network strategy, or a related discipline
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and drive alignment across diverse teams
  • Willingness to travel
  • Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Master’s degree (MBA or related field)
  • Experience in the airline, transportation, or infrastructure sectors
  • Familiarity with airport operations, capital planning, or real estate development
  • Experience with data visualization tools (, Tableau, Power BI) and financial modeling
  • Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong business acumen and financial literacy.
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
