We are a 290 seat established, independently-owned restaurant and tavern in Raleigh. We have a wonderful community of regular patrons and a longstanding staff. We like to encourage an environment of mutual respect, joy, mentorship, and passion for what we do.  We will be celebrating our seventy-fifth year of operation in February of 2026.    In 2024, we served over 150,000 guests with the average guest being $20+.   We are on track to exceed those numbers in 2025.

Our regular menu is a gastro pub / high end sports bar menu.  We have been voted best sports bar in the Triangle area four out of the last five years.   Our bar has 20 draft beers, a single malt scotch list of over 250 and more that 250 different bottles of wine.   We have received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence every year since 2010.    Everything we serve other than ketchup and mustard is made from scratch on location.    On weekends, in addition to our regular menu, we ask our EC to prepare Specials for our guest.   This is an example for one weekend's Chef's Specials :

Role : We are looking for a talented and motivated Executive Chef to lead our restaurant's kitchen team. Excellent leadership qualities and the ability to maximize the talents of our cooks are key requirements. Candidates for this role will also work closely with the owner and general manager to deliver financial success and a high-quality dining experience that meets our customers' expectations.

Responsibilities :

  • Execute a traditional pub-style menu with quality and consistency.
  • Devise elevated featured dishes and at times work with patrons to develop personalized culinary experiences.
  • Recruit, supervise, manage and mentor kitchen staff and promote a positive work environment featuring teamwork and mutual respect.
  • Oversee food prep and portioning.
  • Maintain a clean, functional, and orderly kitchen.
  • Check the quality of ingredients to ensure high-quality food standards.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines when handling food and beverage products.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations.
  • Foster good relationships with all stakeholders to promote a positive vibe and professional appearance.
  • Qualifications

  • Proven experience in cooking and food preparation
  • Strong skills in inventory management and control
  • Expertise in food service management
  • Leadership abilities with experience in team management
  • Background in kitchen management and restaurant operations
  • Broad range of culinary expertise
  • Knowledge of food safety and health practices
  • 2+ years of Executive Chef Experience REQUIRED
