Occupational Therapist - Full Time NEW RATE!

The Lutheran Care Center at Poughkeepsie is currently seeking a full time Occupational Therapist to join our team. RATE : $47.30 / hour (as of 9 / 20 / 2025)

JOB SUMMARY :

Manage the professional components of Occupational Therapy evaluations and treatments.

Assess and evaluate residents and establish goals and plans.

Re-evaluate goals and treatment plans in accordance with New York State code.

Document required medical record progress notes per NYS code.

Insure a physician orders treatments.

Makes recommendation to Director and / or Physician on resident response to treatment.

Provide input as a member of the Comprehensive Care Planning Team.

Make assignments and supervise the Occupational Therapy Assistant and Occupational Therapy Aide.

Familiar with facility policy and procedure.

Attend mandatory in-services and provide Occupational Therapy in-services as needed.

Assume department tasks as required including transportation, general housekeeping, sanitation, and cleaning of equipment as assigned.

Inputs data into computer.

Make rounds of all building on a regular basis to determine safety of the residents’ environment.

Regularly monitor wheelchairs, geriatric chairs and adaptive devices.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school in Occupational Therapy.

New York State license and current registration required.

Excellent clinical skills; comprehensive understanding of the issues surrounding long term care.

Previous experience in Occupational Therapy preferred.
