Job Description : Position Summary
The Project Worker - Housekeeping provides housekeeping services, responds to safety and security needs, and supports resident well-being. Responsibilities include routine and deep cleaning, project work, floor and carpet care, assistance with personal laundry and bed-making. The role also involves supporting resident care by responding to requests, emergencies, and communicating effectively with staff, residents, and guests.
This position is considered essential and requires attendance during hazardous weather and on weekends and holidays.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Housekeeping
Clean assigned areas, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment according to standardsWash, dust, polish, vacuum, and sweep public areas including lobbies, restrooms, offices, corridors, and entrancesRestock restroom supplies and check dispensers regularlyRemove debris / trash from building entrances, driveways, and common areasClean and maintain guest rooms and special project areas as assignedMaintain organized and clean storage areas for supplies and equipmentReport any structural or equipment defects to the supervisorSafety & Emergency Response
Respond promptly to emergencies, spills, accidents, and special cleaning needsFollow infection control and safety procedures at all timesAssist with smoke or fire alarms, coordinating emergency response efforts as directedCommunicate using a two-way radio with nursing, maintenance, and administrative staffEvent & Project Support
Assist in setting up and removing furniture and decorations for eventsPerform deep cleaning projects and seasonal maintenance tasksQualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred1-2 years housekeeping experience preferredKnowledge of cleaning equipment operation and infection control proceduresStrong listening, verbal, and written communication skillsPrevious security, concierge, or first aid / medical training preferredTeam-oriented, dependable, and customer-focusedWorking Conditions & Physical Requirements
Requires frequent lifting of heavy boxes and dirty laundry (from SNF).Machines are heavy and must be handled with care.Constant awareness is required to prevent trip hazards while working around residents and in apartments.Attention to detail and proper care / maintenance of equipment are essential.Cleaning tasks include exposure while cleaning bodily fluids and pet waste.Prolonged walking, standing, bending, and reachingAbility to lift up to 60 lbs. and push / pull housekeeping carts and equipmentRegular exposure to cleaning chemicals (PPE provided)Work primarily in climate-controlled areas with exposure to noise and odorsAbility to climb ladders up to 8 feetSchedule
Works weekends and holidays. All staff are considered essential personnel and must report as scheduled during hazardous weather.
