Job Posting Title

The primary responsibility of this position is to assure that the court's data systems, networks, applications, and processes comply with generally acceptable industry security practices and meet the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) minimum security standards. The incumbent will be responsible for implementing and maintaining both system and network security solutions and working with software engineering staff to ensure application development and software selection is compliant with mandated standards. This is a classified position that reports to the Assistant Director, Information Technology. The incumbent performs duties under general supervision and has no supervisory responsibilities.

Salary Range : $ 68,931.20 - $75,816.00

Minimum Qualifications :

A Bachelor's degree with a major in computer science, management information systems, or a related field, and two (2) years of recent experience in the field of information technology security; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and / or education approved by Human Resources.

Preferred experience with Cisco firewall security systems and vulnerability management software.

Essential Duties :

  • Monitors firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention systems, anti-malware solutions, security data monitoring, event logs, and security patching. Proactively address security issues and / or elevate for management review.
  • Develops and maintains information security procedures, standards, and guidelines for court computer system environments.
  • Develops plans and recommends the implementation of critical court, enterprise-wide security hardware and software solutions.
  • Interacts with court agency partners such as the Administrative Office of the Courts, Pima County Attorney's Office, the Public Defender's Office, the Clerk's Office, Juvenile Court, and the Sheriff's Office.
  • Monitors information security auditing tools and provides management-level reports as needed and in response to compliance audits.
  • Performs system forensics and security incident investigations as required.
  • Audits information systems for compliance to local court and AOC security and architectural containment and retirement standards.
  • Reviews effectiveness of security measures to applicable policies and procedures and makes recommendations for change with respect to information security, remote access to court systems, and networks both physically and digitally.
  • Performs security audit scans of all computing devices in all domains and provides recommendations on risk mitigations and / or corrective actions.

Additional Responsibilities / Duties :

  • Serves as Systems or Network Administrator as required.
  • Provides security information and / or education assistance to information technology and court staff as required.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
  • Must have :

  • Knowledge and experience with Cisco routers and switches.
  • Knowledge of IDS / IPS solution design.
  • Knowledge of systems and network administration concepts.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server / Client operating systems.
  • Must have an understanding of virtualized infrastructure.
  • Ability to use Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to create, update and maintain detailed documentation.
  • Skills in the areas of project management, interpersonal relationships and developing and delivering presentations.
  • Ability to operate independently where appropriate and understand when to escalate issues to management.
  • Advanced skills in both oral and written communication forms.
  • Licenses and Certificates :

  • Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License at time of appointment.
  • Industry recognized certifications within the domain of information security or information technology. Preferred certifications include : CompTIA Security+, or CompTIA Network+, or Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT), or an equivalent certification.
  • Physical / Sensory Items :

    Typically performs duties in an office environment and may lift materials and / or equipment 20 lbs or less. Occasional after hours and weekend hours are required to support system implementations and upgrades.
