Robert Half is partnering with a Des Moines client looking to hire a motivated and detail-oriented Controller to lead their financial operations and ensure organizational excellence. Responsibilities :
- Leadership & Team Development :
- Train and nurture the accounting team to foster individual and collective growth. Inspire team members to achieve their highest potential in alignment with company goals.
- Financial Compliance & Reporting :
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all financial reporting regulations and standards. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, supported by thorough documentation, to facilitate internal and external audits.
- Treasury Operations :
- Oversee all treasury functions, including liquidity management, maintaining banking relationships, debt management, and mitigating financial risks.
- Planning, Forecasting, & Analytics :
- Build dynamic financial models, detailed budgets, and forecasts to provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Internal Controls & Process Optimization :
- Partner with business leaders to implement robust internal controls, streamline accounting processes, and improve organizational performance.
- Policy Development :
- Develop, implement, and enforce financial policies and procedures to ensure consistency and alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaboration :
- Build strong, cross-functional relationships across departments to enhance teamwork and foster a proactive, customer-focused accounting function.
- Regulatory Updates :
- Stay current on new regulations, accounting standards, and industry trends, ensuring the company’s practices remain compliant with necessary adjustments.
- Operational Strategy & Special Projects :
- Lead or contribute to key process improvements and organization-wide projects to support strategic objectives.
- Educational Background : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Advanced certifications are a plus
- Experience : A minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience, including several years in supervisory or leadership roles
- Financial Expertise : Demonstrated ability to execute forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis with precision and strategic insight
- Compliance Knowledge : Comprehensive understanding of regulatory reporting requirements and industry standards
- Leadership & Communication : Proven track record as an effective leader with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to inspire teams and collaborate across departments
- Attention to Detail : Outstanding attention to detail paired with strong analytical capabilities for managing complex financial operations and audits
- Treasury & Risk Management : Hands-on experience in treasury operations
