Wellfleet, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, seeks an experienced Billing Analyst to support the Wellfleet Student Health block of business.

The Billing Analyst is a key player in the service Wellfleet provides to customers. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing and collection processes for Student Health Insurance Products (SHIP). This position is also responsible for coordinating with internal and external parties on inquiries related to billing. The Billing Analyst will be responsible for coordination with enrollment specialists to confirm that reconciliation is complete to generate invoices. In addition, they will communicate with internal teams and departments as well as external brokers and schools, in support of premium collection. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of student health enrollment and billing practices.

In this role, you will

  • Own invoicing and collections for all student health groups
  • Issue invoices, collect premiums, and analyze data reports accurately and timely
  • Work with the client services team, sales team, and external parties to resolve billing issues
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of invoicing and collection related transactions
  • Provide regular updates to the leadership team on the invoicing and collections process, including past due schools
  • Audit invoices for accuracy and completeness
  • Develop and maintain documentation for processing electronic enrollment and generating invoices
  • Research and respond to customers (internal and external) by phone, email, or other forms of communication
  • Independently research issues or concerns, and escalate to appropriate parties if needed and follow up to ensure a response is given in a timely manner
  • Independently resolve customer issues related to enrollment and billing to represent the Wellfleet brand
  • Assist other team members outside of the department when issues arise involving financial transactions such as billing discrepancies, billing questions, etc.
  • Process manual enrollment as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

We are looking for candidates with

  • Associate's degree in related field with a minimum of 3 years' enrollment or billing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with internal and external customers
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of the team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including thorough and complete follow-up on all time sensitive items
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
  • Outstanding attention to detail with the ability to problem-solve, conduct thorough research and provide issue resolutions
  • Knowledge and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills
  • Understanding of student insurance, ability to interpret brochures and to apply enrollment policies in relation to specific incidents.

The annual gross base salary range is $63,000 to $70,000. This range anticipates the low and high end of the salary for this position. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills and competencies. Salary is one component of Wellfleet's total compensation and benefits package, which includes medical, vision and dental insurance options, life and accident insurance, 401(k), and short-term and long-term disability insurance.
