Job Overview :
APTIM is currently seeking a Senior Professional Geologist in California for our Solid Waste Services Group in the Concord CA area to support our exciting portfolio of projects. We provide the following services to both the public and private sectors :
- Stormwater compliance,
- Hydrogeologic and geotechnical investigations,
- Environmental compliance audits,
- Solid Waste Reporting for site-specific and General Waste Discharge Requirements
- Environmental site assessments and remediation.

Leading teams or projectsProviding technical oversight and quality controlAnticipating client needs and identifying solutionsUtilizing skills and knowledge to solve complex problemsEvaluating geologic and hydrogeologic conditions and providing analysesLeading and completing regulatory compliance reports, work plans, and special studiesPreparing and managing, scopes, budgets and schedulesCoordinating with contractors and clientsCollaborating with other team membersAttending client meetingsProviding other duties as required.Past experience collecting environmental field data including groundwater, surface water, soil, and soil vapor samplesWork may periodically involve oversight during the installation of monitoring wells and supervising other field tasksCoordination with the field team and laboratory to prepare sampling paperwork and bottle orders for sampling eventsCommunication of technical concepts, evaluation results, plans, reports, etc. during work team meetings; ensures conformance to applicable technical standards as well as company policies and proceduresPossess a "Safety First" work ethicBasic Qualifications :
BS / MS GeologyLicensed State of California Professional Geologist10-15 years of Landfill / Solid Waste experienceAbility to work on multidisciplinary projectsExcellent oral & written communication skillsAbility to work in a team environmentSelf-starter and problem solverExcellent organizational skillsKnowledge of federal and state environmental regulationsAbility to wear proper PPE for work on hazardous waste sitesPreferred Qualifications :
Previous experience working with the California State Water Resources Control Board a plus.Possession of 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with current 8-hour refresher certificate a plus.Knowledge of statistical evaluation methods (Sanitas software knowledge a plus)Who we are and what we do :
