JOB SUMMARY : Under general supervision, supports the daily operations of Police Technology. Work involves maintaining law enforcement data systems, monitoring video systems, retrieving digital evidence, and operating unmanned aerial vehicles. Tasks are both assigned and self-identified, ensuring the continuity of mission-critical systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Maintain and troubleshoot information systems, train users, and assist staff. Research and upload relevant videos for investigations. Monitor video cameras and report suspicious activity. Deploy unmanned aerial vehicles for critical incidents. Configure and troubleshoot IP cameras, license plate readers, wireless data devices, and access control systems. Deploy and maintain mobile LPR and CCTV trailers. Coordinate vendor and contractor activities. Provide technical support to system users and collaborate with City IT to resolve issues. Prepare reports and special projects related to Police Technology. Perform related work as assigned and be available for call-out, call-back, weekend, and extended duty.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and / or ability required. Required : High School Diploma or GED; supplemented by 13 years of experience in law enforcement technology support, such as CAD, public safety aide, or similar role. Preferred : Associate degree and 5 years of related experience, including 2 years of technical support for field-deployed systems. Equivalent combinations of training and experience may be considered. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS : Valid Driver's License : With proof of automobile insurance. Background and Driving Record : Must maintain an acceptable background and driving record. Preferred certifications : CompTIA A+, MCP, or similar IT certification; FAA Part 107 UAS License; FDLE CJIS Limited Access certification. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES : Knowledge of law enforcement technology systems, data management, and security protocols. Skill in operating and maintaining video surveillance and UAV systems. Ability to troubleshoot software, hardware, and network connectivity issues. Ability to communicate effectively and work independently or collaboratively. Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow proper evidence handling procedures. PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Performs light to medium work that involves walking or standing and exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force regularly. Must have manual dexterity and good vision including close, distance, and peripheral vision. Reasonable accommodations may be provided. WORK ENVIRONMENT : Work is performed primarily in office and field environments. Must be adaptable to changing operational priorities and respond to emergencies when required.

The top three names are considered for each vacancy unless otherwise modified. Those not appointed are returned to the eligibility list for further consideration in accordance with the Civil Service Ordinance. Your name will remain on a register for one year for open competitive examinations and two years for closed competitive except where labor contract conflicts. Your name may be removed from an eligibility list prior to one year according to Hollywood's Civil Service Ordinance or labor contracts. Your eligibility may be cancelled if you refuse a position or if you are not available for work. You are responsible for notifying the Employment Office, in writing, of any change in your address or telephone number.
