Structural Steel Fabricator

Location : Kentwood, MI Shift : 2nd Shift : 4 : 00 PM – 3 : 00 AM, Monday – Friday (Overtime available on Saturday as needed)

Pay : 20.00+ per hour

Job Summary

As a Structural Steel Fabricator at a leading steel manufacturer, you will be responsible for cutting, shaping, and assembling steel components according to blueprints and specifications. You can expect to perform welding and layout work, operate fabrication equipment, and ensure each piece meets precise quality and safety standards. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and teamwork while contributing to the accurate and efficient production of structural steel assemblies.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Structural Steel Fabricator your core responsibilities will include :

• Fabricating steel components : Cut, shape, and assemble structural steel using hand tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery
• Reading and interpreting blueprints : Review drawings and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication of parts
• Quality control : Measure parts with precision tools, conduct in-process inspections, and document production data to ensure compliance with specifications

In addition, you will also be expected to act as a liaison between shop staff, project management, and other departments to resolve fabrication issues and ensure smooth operations.
