A day in the life
You start your day on the ramp at Orlando International (MCO), opening a work order and performing inspections on tugs, bobtails, and forklifts. With a volt meter in one hand and schematics on your tablet, you diagnose a hydraulic issue on a belt loader, record findings, and complete a quick unscheduled repair to keep operations moving. Before your break, you update maintenance records, coordinate with the next shift on open items, and check environmental compliance on a fuel cart. In the afternoon, you jump on a service call for a diesel-powered unit, then sync with leadership to review priorities for a short trip to another QAS station later in the week.
What you'll do
- Conduct routine checks and safety inspections on Ground Support Equipment (GSE), trucks, and service equipment.
- Maintain complete, accurate maintenance records; perform both scheduled and unscheduled inspections to ensure equipment is safe and mission-ready.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of diesel-powered and electric / hydraulic GSE.
- Communicate equipment status daily with teammates and leadership; hand off outstanding items clearly to the next shift.
- Uphold company and airline procedures, safety standards, and comply with all applicable environmental laws and permits.
- Travel to other Quantem Aviation Services airport stations as needed.
- Promote and live QAS’s mission, values, and purpose in daily operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
