Position Summary

J. J. Keller's Environmental Consulting practice is seeking a Contract Consultant with subject matter expertise in Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) regulations . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MSHA regulations, consulting experience, and a willingness to travel. As an Independent Contractor with J. J. Keller, candidates MUST have other clients, as J. J. Keller cannot make up 50% or more of your total annual revenue.

  • This position can be located anywhere in the U. S.

Education, Experience & Other Qualifications

  • Advanced experience in the mine safety & health industry.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate health / safety aspects of mining industry operations and processes.
  • Bachelors’ Degree, preferably in Environmental Services, Health or Safety Sciences, Technology / Engineering, and 10+ years experience or an equivalent combination of education and / or related experience.
  • Strong verbal and written skills for effectively communicating within organizations and outside regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to analyze technical and regulatory information, make sound judgments, and provide prudent recommendations to all J. J. Keller clients.
  • Knowledge of applicable MSHA federal, state, and local rules and regulations with the ability to educate, train, and mentor J.J. Keller clients on the applications and impacts on operations

    • Physical Requirements

    Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Periodic travel to customer sites and / or industry and training events may be required based on assignment.
