Patient Care Assistant, Oncology, Part Time - Night Shift

Job Description

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) I supports patient care by ensuring comfort and safety, following the model of care at TCH, which emphasizes collaboration between patients, families, and healthcare teams. Care is culturally sensitive and age-appropriate, and all duties are delegated by a Registered Nurse according to Ohio Board of Nursing guidelines.

Responsibilities

Clinical : Perform clinical tasks assigned by the RN, adhering to Ohio Board of Nursing delegation guidelines. Maintain patient confidentiality.

Leadership & Accountability : Demonstrate key behavioral competencies such as effective communication, adaptability, teamwork, and personal accountability.

Environment and Safety : Ensure patient and unit safety.

Comfort : Provide patient comfort and hygiene, documenting according to policy.

Communication : Orient patients and families to the hospital environment and facilitate communication throughout the hospitalization process

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :

EDUCATION : High School Diploma required

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE : 0 - 1 Years of Experience Required.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS : AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Required
