You can explore the details of our benefits offering by visiting the following link : Release of Information (ROI) Specialist II under the leadership of the ROI Supervisor is responsible interpreting all requests for copies of electronic medical records regardless of to which hospital the medical record request is addressed ensuring proper authorization and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements relevant to the privacy and security of protected health information. The ROI Specialist II will prioritize all requests directly related to patient care and ensure record copies are securely sent based on the needs of the patient. The ROI Specialist II will apply controls to accurately identify the correct patient using all available patient identifiers in the electronic Master Patient Index. The ROI Specialist II is responsible for limiting copies of clinical documentation based on the specifics of the request in compliance with the Minimum Necessary Rule in the HIPAA Regulations. The ROI Specialist II will ensure a thorough and accurate search of all current and multiple legacy medical record systems. The ROI Specialist II will update the ROI module of the electronic medical record with the information that was sent to the requestor as well as relevant comments to support the Accounting of Disclosures requirement in the HIPAA regulations. The ROI Specialist II will safeguard and protect patient privacy by identifying protected health information ensuring only authorized individuals are granted access to the information and will abide with all relevant hospital policies the 21st Century Cures act State of Maryland and HIPAA regulations.

Education and Work Experience :

Associates Degree preferably in Health Information Management or AHIMA ROI micro-credential and six months work experience in HIM

In Lieu of Associates Degree or AHIMA ROI micro-credential high school diploma or GED along with two years of work experience in HIM

Salary Range : Minimum $ 17.11 / visit - Maximum $ 28.26 / visit. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
