Nationally Certified Medical Assistant - School Health

Position Summary : We are currently hiring HCSR-II (Health Care Service Representative) which are Medical Assistants who possess their National CCMA and / or National Phlebotomy Technician credentials

for our School Based Health Care Centers based out of elementary ,middle and high schools in the Bronx.

Minimum Qualifications :

Certification as a Medical Assistant AND National Certification as Phlebotomy Technician required OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), required.

Candidates with previous experience in a health care or school based setting strongly preferred.

Previous experience working with children and adolescents, a strong plus.

High School Diploma or GED required.

Bilingual Spanish / English required.

Knowledge of taking vital signs, phlebotomy, and medical administration tasks.

Key Duties :

Process blood draws. Collects specimens for laboratory testing.

Prepare examination rooms and equipment.

Participates in health and wellness activities and health education when required.

Obtain vital signs, chief complaints, and medical history and accurately records in medical records.

Completes referrals and discharges patients.

Assists providers and nurses during all aspects of exams.

Assist provider during visit with treatments, examinations, and procedures.

Schedules appointments, verifies insurance and demographic information.

Processes diagnostic orders.

Starting Compensation :

Minimum : $23.00 / hour ; Maximum : $23.00 / hour ; Additional $1,500 / annum in differential pay.

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule :

The HCSR-II's will work onsite within our Bronx based School based health center located at : PS 161 : 628 Tinton Ave, Bronx NY 10455

This position will require a schedule of Monday - Friday 8 : 00am - 5 : 00pm with occasional evenings and weekends.
